The ceremony of afternoon tea was started in England in 1840 by Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford.  Tea evolved from a simple "drink with jam and bread" into a grand social event.

 

Proper afternoon tea is no longer an occasion for the exclusive enjoyment of society ladies of leisure.  We invite our friends and neighbors in the community to join us for Afternoon Tea.  At Connoisseurs Corner Sweet Tea Room, you will enjoy delicious food and fine teas in a beautiful and relaxed setting.

 

Our food is freshly prepared with quality ingredients, and our fine whole leaf teas are brewed in silky sachets and served with honey pearls.  We serve our Afternoon Tea on china and vintage linens to enhance the experience.

 

The Connoisseurs Corner Tea Room is also available for small group events and teas.  We will reserve the Tea Room on specific dates for groups of 10-20 guests for the following types of events:

 

Theme Teas  - Friendship Teas, Red Hat Groups, Mommy and Me or Teddy Bear Teas, Church Groups, Bridal and Baby Showers, Children's Birthday Parties - Princess or Victorian Teas, Girl Scout Etiquette classes, etc.

 

 

You may reserve the Tea Room for up to two hours for adult events and 1.5 hours for children's parties.  Each additional half hour is $50.00.  A deposit of 50 percent of the party fee is required to book the event.  Your space is not reserved until we receive your deposit and signed contract.  We ask for an approximate number of guests attending one week prior to the event, and the final count is due 48 hours prior to the event.
